Regional Taxpayers Forum in Lima, Peru, October 12-14th 2018
The second WTA-sponsored Regional Taxpayers Forum of 2018 will take place in Lima, Peru, October 12-14th 2018. The World Taxpayers Associations along with Americans for Tax Reform and Respect for Taxpayers (Contribuyentes por Respeto) are pleased to invite delegates to join us in an exchange of ideas and best practices to advance taxpayer advocacy in Latin America.

France has more than 40,000 roundabouts all over the country. To build a roundabout, it costs something between 100,000 and 1 million euros. Some of them cost millions of euros, paid by the taxpayers. Those extra costs are due to the cost of amenities and decorations.

New analysis by the TaxPayers’ Alliance shows that the bottom 10 per cent of earners in Britain are paying half of their income in tax, which is a dramatic increase on the previous year.

Tim Andrews is inviting all WTA organisations to join a new coalition of taxpayer organisations started by the US based Taxpayers Protection Alliance called IGOWatch.

Croatian Taxpayers Association won the 2018 Europe Liberty Award for its campaign against the introduction of property taxes in Croatia. 

Scott Hodge, president of the Tax Foundation acknowledges that “although there is no empirical standard for what constitutes a “fair share” of the tax burden, tax fairness is often used by leading international organizations, such as the European Commission, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as the Tax Justice Network, to justify higher taxes on businesses and corporations”.
