The Nepal Taxpayers’ Welfare Society recently released their Tax Freedom Day report.  This year, Tax Freedom Day is September 19, 66 days into the fiscal year (Nepali Fiscal Year Starts on July 16).

Also, the research comes to the conclusion that in Nepal, people pay Rs. 421.097 billion in taxes and spend Rs. 329.137 billion on rice grains.  This shows that Nepalese spend more on taxes than on their daily meal.
